Todd Gorman | American Record Guide | July 2022

Despite the richness of the field, this album is certainly one of the best I've heard this year.

BBC Music Magazine | March 2022

What a surprising delight this recording is. Not only is flautist Birgit Ramsl's tone crisp, controlled and refusing to hide in the shadows, these works by rather obscure late-RRomantic European composers are a joy.

FLUIT | Dutch Flute Magazine

The three-movement sonata for flute and Klavier op. 32 (1930) by Jirak is also a discovery.

This adventurous CD is definitely recommended.

Natalie Szabo | Fanfare | May 2023

Her impeccable tone and phrasing will capture the imagination and hearts of listeners. (...) Ramsl presents the almost atonal melody with so much musical direction and purpose that it manages to never take on a nondigestible atonal quality. (...) This album is a great listen and will surely add to the flute community in bringing valuable and significant visibility to these previously underperformed flute works. (...) Five Stars: Birgit Ramsl presents flute treasures.

David Denton | David's Review Corner | Jan 2022

Birgit Ramsl, Principal Flute of the Vienna Volksoper, takes a brief tour of flute music that emerged in the 20th century, both from geographic and time perspective. The disc has proved to be a fine survey of an outstanding young flautist, beautifully recorded.

CULTURA FM | CD of the week | Brazil | February 2023

O Pássaro da Vida - Treasures of late romantic music for "auta" is this week's CD on Cultura FM: On the one hand the flutist Birgit Ramsl, soloist of the Vienna Opera Orchestra, on the other hand the pianist Gottlieb Wallisch, who has lived in Vienna for 44 years. Together they take us on a fascinating journey of discovery of this repertoire.

In addition, she shows herself to be a versatile musician who plays these works very well with her partners. The flute sonata by Charles Boleslav Jirak (1891 - 1972) from Prague impressed me the longest.
